The Prophecy and Promise of The Cross

Isaiah and Jesus ChristIt is Amazing, that we don’t even need to read the New Testament and the four books of The Gospel (Matthew, Mark Luke and John) to know about the Trial before hand and Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Greg take the prophecies of the Old Testament, and shows through the actual Truth in scripture the story and details of the Trial of Christ and his Crucifixion.Play Button

If we were asked to be a guest speaker in a Jewish Synagogue and our task was to prove in a Jewish Synagogue today where in their Old Testament scriptures it speaks of and proves the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, could we do it? Yes we could by using Genesis, Amos, Zechariah, Psalms, Isaiah.

And why do we know that the Bible is The Truth?  Because the Bible is the only book written by God in the hands of men through the Holy Spirit, and providing thousand of prophecies over thousands of years of which no other religion can come up with one prophecy, not one, not Buddha, not Muhammad, not Krishna, not native American Shaman, to support their writings in their books.

The Sermon today begins with the Resurrected Jesus while walking along the road after his Resurrection,  and how he explains to a couple of the Apostles, that if they had only known all the Old Testament prophecies and what they said about Christ the Savior starting with Genesis and the story of Adam and Eve of how they were deceived by the Serpent (the devil) , then later as written in the Law of Moses, the Prophets Amos, Zechariah, the Psalms, Isaiah, and many many more places, that they could have forseen all of what would happen to Christ, and thus they would understand, and would not doubt that he was indeed The Christ.  It wasn’t until later that they all did believe.

Scriptures used: Luke 24:25, Genesis 3:15 God speaking to Serpent in Garden of Eden, how he will put emnity between the Serpent and the Seed of the Woman.Christ will crush the Serpent’s head, and the Serpent shall bruise Christ’s heal. Luke 18.   Psalm 41:9  Jesus going up to Jerusalem, it is made clear Jesus will be betrayed by a friend eating bread with him. John 12, Zechariah 11 (520 BC)  Speaks about how the Messiah would be betrayed for 30 pieces of Silver. And the coins would be thrown to The Potter.

Isaiah 53 describes the details of the trial of Christ (in Jewish Synagogues they don’t have Isaiah 53 text ever read in the
Synagogue, even though the text does remain in the Jewish scripture for them.  How Christ was opressed and afflicted, and was like a lamb that was lead to the slaughter.  LIke a sheep that is going to be sheared, he makes no sound, he remains dumb.  Just like Jesus made no defense at his trial and did not speak up to defend himself when spoken to by Pontius Pilate.  And he would have false witnesses speak against him.,

Luke 23   about  Pontius Pilate , Matthew 26 Jesus says that all the Apostles will fall away from him (Jesus)  this night and Zechariah 13:7 provides this proof before hand, saying  I will strike the Shepherd and his sheep will scatter.

Psalm 22  It was prophesied that God would seem to turn against his son and forsake him for a short while.
Isaiah 54  It states that for a brief moment God would forsake his Son, but with great compassion, I will gather You.

John 19, Psalm 63  (a Messianic Psalm) , Isaiah 50:5,

Isaiah 53  also states how they made his grave with the wicked (the two criminals on the crosses on each side of Jesus, and a rich man in his death.  (the 2 killers beside him and Joseph who requested his body to be placed in his tomb, Joseph was the rich man who owned the tomb)

Luke 23:32 that he would be between 2 transgressors,  Matthew 27

Psalm 22, the words of David’s Psalm are the exact words that spew out of the mouths of the Pharisees and Chief Priests.
Psalm 22 also says, I can count all my bones, they stare at my garments and for my raiments they would cast lots for Jesus tunic.  See John 22 of how the soldiers did not want the body or garments.  Also the Jewish leaders did not want the other Criminals on the other crosses to remain there and alive on the Sabbath, so they gave orders to break their legs so they would die. But Jesus was already dead.

Psalm 22:16,  Psalm 69 says they gave me poison for my food and gave me vinegar to drink.  In John 19 John said when they gave Jesus vinegar to drink Jesus said “It is Finished”

Amos 8:9  I will make the Sun go down at noon, (an eclipse) , I will turn your feasts into the mourning, I will make it like
the Mourning for an only Son as it also says in Zechariah 12:10 – 12

Isaiah 53:1-9 makes the New Testament Gospel clear that we are Saved and Made Righteous just in believing in the name of Christ.
