Your Truth

What is The Truth?

This is one example of how Truth may be defined in the Bible.  It is how Paul explains that we must guard against those that will go around teaching false doctrine, Pastors or Priests or whomever claiming they support and teach the Bible, when in fact they are teaching dangerous lies to their unsuspecting audience/congregation, etc.  -  The explanation follows…

Here it is stated best by the Apostle Paul (the main person in the new Testament that spread the word of the Gospel of Christ to all Pagans.  (non-Jews) )  Note:  Paul was captured and held in prison a number of times, and while in prison he studied the entire set of armor worn by the Roman Soldier guarding him, who never left the room.  Paul used each piece of armor as an analogy, and Paul likens the vigilant Christian to a soldier.  Which makes sense, because many of those that have not accepted Christ, or those that do not understand that Christ is The One and Only pathway to Heaven, often attack the name of Jesus Christ and anyone who follows him.

It begins in a letter from the Apostle Paul to the people of Ephesus in Greece;  Ephesians 6:10-17  The Armor of God  “10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. “

Okay, so what does this Helmet and Sword mean and what does it really do for Us? HelmetThe helmet was made of thick leather or brass and was designed to protect the head from blows received from an axe, sword, or even a club. This piece of armor protects the physical head but is likened to those who are truly saved. The helmet of the hope of salvation is there to protect the mind which is the new mind of Christ which we have received upon salvation. When Satan comes at us with false teachings and philosophies, it is like being attacked with a blunt instrument. When we wear that helmet of the hope of salvation, those false teachings will be unable to penetrate the renewed mind that we now possess. It is in our mind where we begin to ponder thoughts which could be detrimental to the Christian walk but when our mind is protected by that helmet, they will have no effect upon us nor will they affect our thinking concerning spiritual things. In conclusion;  as the Apostle Paul says, “We are to remain vigilant, alert, and watching.” , because many false prophets and teachers will come, especially toward the end times.  Therefore we hope to provide you with only The Truth here at Captain Gregs Illustrations.
